TOR will end support for v2 Onion Service soon!

Dark Web

V2 onion services will slowly stop working this month and will end working this October 15th, 2021

As we have been informed since a bit more than 1 year ago, the v2 onion services will slowly stop working this month and will end working this October 15th, 2021 when a new Tor Browser update will be released disabling v2 onion addresses.

Double check you bookmarks and make sure that your favorite onions links are well updated to v3.

This update is already happening, you may still reach your v2 onion links. But this will stop soon as relay operators are being updated

You can spot the difference between a v2 onion address and v3 onion address on his character length:

- v2 Onion contains 16 character length plus .onion
Example: http://expyuzz4wqqyqhjn.onion/ (Tor Project URL v2)

- v3 Onion contains 56 character length plus .onion

Example: http://2gzyxa5ihm7nsggfxnu52rck2vv4rvmdlkiu3zzui5du4xyclen53wid.onion/ (Tor Project URL v3)

This update will also affect any service provider that still not upgraded to a v3 onion address. This include email providers, XMPP and any other application using a v2 onion address.

Make sure that your XMPP/Jabber account is well configured with the v3 onion address of your service provider.

If you're an onion service, you must upgrade to v3 onion services as soon as possible. Follow the steps provided by the torproject.org team { here. - https://support.torproject.org/onionservices/#v2-deprecation }
